Four years ago my spouse was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. While in treatment a friend told us about a run/walk group called Cancer to 5K for any and all cancer survivors to get out, be active and feel "healthy" again. This is a free program that is put on by a non-profit organization called the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. The more I see of what the Ulman Cancer Fund does for survivors and their families, the more inspired I am to help. This is why I have signed up to do the Point to Point which is a 1,300 mile run from Locust Point, Maryland to the southernmost point of Key West, Florida. October 7th, NEXT SATURDAY, we will begin our journey. I can't believe it is only a week away! More than 90% of the funds raised go directly to support programs for survivors and their families, 4% to overhead and the remaining 6% goes back into fundraising. The UCF changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults and their loved ones impacted by cancer. |

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:
Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.
Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer expereience and long-term cancer survival.
Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
