Cancer is a long, lonely journey full of small joys and big frustrations. When Donal was diagnosed with Leukemia in June of 2015, we had no idea just how much our lives would change (and continue to change) during this journey. But one of the brightest spots in this process has been the Cancer to 5k program, sponsored by the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. Donal trained for and successfully completed a 5k run in June of 2016, exactly one year after being admitted to the hospital. And he did it again in June of this year! It was harder this time, due to the build-up of chemo, but no less rewarding - and Donal even managed to beat his 2016 time!

I have decided to also take part in the Ulman Cancer Fund ("Team Fight") Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon. It is a fundraiser to support cancer-related programs like, among other things, the Cancer to 5k program. Any contribution you are able to give, small or big, will help me reach my goal of giving back to a program that helped and is helping Donal (and myself) so, so much.

Thank you!!!

ABOUT 2017 Team Fight's Iron Girl Training Team

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:

Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.

Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer expereience and long-term cancer survival.

Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.

Your donation will help make these programs and our mission possible!
