Dear Friend and Family,

In 5 weeks, I will close the chapter on my 5th decade so, of course to mark this milestone, I'm participating in my 5th IronGirl triathlon on Sunday, August 20th. I am once again supporting the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults with my participation.  And this will be my first time doing this as a grandmother!

It's been 20 years since the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults has been founded and the impact that they have had on patients and their families has been felt far and wide.  Specifically, the funds raised by my Iron Girl Training Team fundraising goes to their Patient Navigation program, their Cancer to 5k survivor training program, the UCF House, Where YA  (Young Adults) Meet support groups, their national scholarship fund, helping others fight program (which including chemo care bags and other direct volunteer and/or financial support offered to families).

Last year, they officially broke ground on The UCF House which will house a total of 8 family suites for patients and their out-of-town families.  More details on this exciting development can be found here:  http://ulmanfund.org/theucfhouse/

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of my dear brother Andy and my sister-in-law Betsy who both succumbed to cancer.  Please join me with your support as I honor their memory along with the many others that have faced and are currently facing this dreaded disease.  Many thanks!

Gratefully,

Dana

ABOUT 2017 Team Fight's Iron Girl Training Team

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:

Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.

Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer expereience and long-term cancer survival.

Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.

Your donation will help make these programs and our mission possible!
