I am once again doing Iron Girl in August 2017 to raise money for an organization that is near and dear to my heart. When I was finishing up treatments from breast cancer I found a program "Cancer to 5k" through Ulman Cancer Fund. This program was instrumental as I enteried my post treatment journey of cancer. I completed two years as a survivor and this year i will be a Sherpa to help a fellow cancer survivor cross the finish line for a 5k as I did the previous two years. As a result of this program I am doing my part in raising awareness to ALL cancers that affect every age group by running 5k races, swimming, biking and golfing.

This photo is one of my favorites from the past year since 2016 Iron Girl. My sister Mary, my niece Katherine and I crossed the finish line for the Abbott 5k and the following day we cheered on my nephew Mark who ran the NY city marathon who raised money for the Brain Tumor Foundation in memory of his dad (Carmen) and his uncle Jim.

As I go through training and do events, I will post pictures of my 2017 journey of training for Iron Girl. Please consider making a donation to this very important organization and help me cross the finish line to help other cancer patients cross their finish line as they begin their journey of cancer survivorship.

ABOUT 2017 Team Fight's Iron Girl Training Team

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:

Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.

Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer expereience and long-term cancer survival.

Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.

Your donation will help make these programs and our mission possible!
