Over 70,000 young adults (ages 15-39) are diagnosed with cancer every year.  Unfortunately, most of the people I know have some sort of connection with cancer - whether a loved one has it, a friend is battling, or someone they know has been taken too soon by this ugly disease.  My journey with the Ulman Cancer Fund and Team Fight began in 2011 after the diagnosis of a friend motivated me to sign up for my first 5k.  Since then, I have finished multiple race distances and even a few triathlons - events that I never would have even thought about doing without the encouragement and support of the Team Fight family. 

When I signed up to be a part of the Key to Keys ride last year, I didn't really know what to expect.  I knew it would be one of the hardest things I had ever done, but it's nothing compared to the journey cancer patients and their families must travel after a diagnosis.  And even though I knew some of the team before we began our journey to Key West, people who were strangers to me on Day 1 became family by the time we reached Key West on Day 8.  It was truly a life changing event.   

I am honored to come back as an alumni rider for the 2016 Key to Keys team.  The money raised by the Key to Keys team will support vital programs and services, including a UCF patient navigator at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  I hope you will consider a donation (in someone's honor or memory) to join me in the fight against cancer and support those fighting cancer.

UCF Key to Keys Experience is a journey that brings together a diverse group of individuals to build a community of support for those affected by cancer. Using cycling as a platform, Key to Keys participants come together throughout the journey to share their individual cancer connections and give out as much support to others as they are receiving.
