I have spent the past 34 years treating oncology patients with toxic drugs and trying to manage their side effects. I have participated in events to benefit people with breast cancer, leukemia and lymphoma, and the American Cancer Society. Now I am privileged to participate in an event that addresses the needs of young adults, not only through their diagnosis and treatment, but through their journey past the treatment phase to re-entering the world of being a person with a cancer diagnosis trying to find employment, have relationships and start a family. The focus moves beyond my world to what can often be harder than enduring treatment because the resources are almost non-existent.

It has been years since I have been so excited and passionate about a goal I have set for myself. The Key to Keys ride gives me the opportunity to raise awareness in my own profession to the challenges of young cancer survivors, make cancer survivors aware of the resources available to them through The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults and have an unbelievable opportunity to ride with people I have viewed as my heroes. My patients and their families are the bravest, strongest and most appreciative people I could ever hope to know. My friends and family have supported me in many endeavors and now I am asking them to support me in one more.  It is truly a privilege to be a part of this event and I hope that you can support me in any way you are comfortable with.

UCF Experiences Key to Keys is a journey that brings together a diverse group of individuals to build a community of support for those affected by cancer. Using cycling as a platform, Key to Keys participants come together throughout the journey to share their individual cancer connections and give out as much support to others as they are receiving.
